Also known as the little brown bat, the brown bat is a fairly small member of the Vespertilionidae family that can be found all over North America. In fact, brown bats are believed to be the most common species of bat found in North America.
History:
Many bats that live in temperate zones either hibernate or migrate in order to deal with the cold winter months. However, the brown bat does both. When it begins to become cold during the fall, brown bats will fly south and mate. After theyve mated, they hibernate in the warmer region until they can once again return north for spring and summer.
