History
The Merhorse is also known as the Hippocaumpus or Sea-Horse, though it should not be confused with the real-life animal that bears that name. These creatures originated in the myths of the Phoenicians, as well as the Ancient Greeks and Romans. The Merhorse is closely related to the Capricorn, a half-goat, half-fish mythical beast of Ancient Greece, which is also used as a symbol for the Zodiac sign of the same name.
